Machine Learning

Classification of Twitter Sentiment: Covid-19, Vaccines, and Education

This machine learning project sought to classify the sentiment of tweets based on textual characteristics of the data. The analysis was conducted in R using the TidyModels framework and multinomial regression. The project was heavily influenced by Emil Hvitfelt and Julia Silge's excellent resource Supervised Machine Learning for Text Analysis in R.

Dashboard Design

Shiny App: Open Doors

This simple dashboard shows the total international student enrollment in US Universities as compared to the total of all university students enrolled in the US. The US has seen steady growth in the number of International Students enrolled in its universities since 1980 until 2016. The data show that the number took a slight decline since then, coinciding with the unfavorable policies of the Trump administration. Link to Git Repo

LX Design

Winter Breakaway, Duke University

I served on the creative team that developed the Winter Breakaway virtual learning experience for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Program offerings were designed to enable students to combine skills such as collaborative leadership, compelling communication across audiences and media, and complex problem solving with technical skills like digital competencies and data analysis. I also co-designed the 'Working Across Cultures' virtual program.

Guidebook App for Global Education

I lead and project managed an internal team and liased with Guidebook developers to create a pre-departure app using the Guidebook platform for Duke Global Education students studying away. Links to the screenshots of the different elements are included in the Git Repo.

Global Education Pre-departure Training

I lead and project managed a team to create pre-departure training modules in Duke's learning management system, Sakai. These modules are deployed to all Duke students studying abroad and must be completed before they are officially enrolled.

Rumie Initiative

Created content for a micro-learning courses delivered globally through the Rumie platform. Collaborated with an international, distributed team remotely to edit, refine, and publish relevant content based on a data-driven insights.
